Cass County (trfnews.i234.me) — A tense situation unfolded in downtown Fargo on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in felony charges for a local man.

According to court records, Isaac Jacob Swiftbird is now facing charges of felony terrorizing and misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon after allegedly threatening a homeless outreach coordinator.

The incident began when the victim called police, reporting that Swiftbird had displayed what appeared to be a handgun and made threatening statements toward her. An officer located Swiftbird nearby and initiated a high-risk stop with emergency lights activated.

Upon exiting his squad car, the officer drew his firearm and ordered Swiftbird to show his hands. Instead, Swiftbird argued with the officer and reached into his waistband, pulling out what looked like a black handgun. In a further alarming move, Swiftbird attempted to hide the weapon on a person in a wheelchair standing nearby.

The apparent firearm fell to the ground, at which point Swiftbird finally complied with police commands and was placed in handcuffs.

Upon recovery, officers determined the weapon was a compressed air BB gun, but authorities noted that the appearance and handling of the weapon created a very real danger during the confrontation.

Swiftbird was transported to jail and now faces serious charges in Cass County District Court.
