Doris “Dorie” Stromberg, of Elk River, MN passed away peacefully October 19, 2024 with loving family by her side. Doris was born October 15, 1921 in rural Thief River Falls, MN to Charles & Gertie (Hagen) Carlson. She attended country school & Lincoln High School. Graduating in 1940. She attended Interstate Business College & moved to Livingston, MT where she was employed at the National Park Bank & Montana Power Co. Married Reid Stromberg in 1944 in Livingston where they lived after Reid’s discharge from the Navy. In 1969 they moved to Grafton, ND where she was employed at the Bremer Bank, retiring in 1987. After her retirement, she moved to Thief River Falls. Doris was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, VFW Auxiliary, & Legion Auxiliary. She was also active in Bridge clubs. She moved to Elk River Sr. Living in 2018 to be near her daughters. She is survived by her daughters, Linda (John) Myrdal, Anoka, & Reida Stromberg, Webster, WI. Two grandsons, Christopher (Jill) Myrdal & Benjamin (Pam) Stromberg & four great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, her husband, Reid Stromberg, sons, David & Thomas Stromberg, sisters, Lillian Berling, Alyce Hegland, Gladys Parenteau & brothers, Clarence & Alton Carlson. At Doris’s request, there will be no funeral. Burial will be at a later date in Grafton, ND.
