Donald “Petey” Peterson, 73, passed away Friday July 19th, 2024 in Granbury, TX. Don was born Feb 13th, 1951 to Clifford and Helen (Carlson) Peterson.
Petey graduated from Central High School in Grand Forks in 1969. He played hockey for Central and scored the winning goal in the state championship game against St. James High School. He later coached for The Grand Forks Park Board Youth Hockey program. In addition to hockey, Don also enjoyed playing golf with his friends in Grand Forks and later in Texas.
Petey worked for BNSF Railroad as a switch foreman until his retirement in 2012.
Petey married Kathleen (Rogalla) Evans on July 8th, 2006. They made their home in Granbury, TX.
A memorial was held in Granbury on Aug 2nd, 2024.
