Doctor Pleads Guilty in Connection to Matthew Perry’s Fatal Overdose in Ketamine Conspiracy

LOS ANGELES (trfnews.i234.me) – In a tragic turn of events following Matthew Perry’s fatal overdose, San Diego doctor Mark Chavez, 54, pleaded guilty in federal court on Wednesday to conspiring to distribute the surgical anesthetic ketamine. Chavez is the third person to admit guilt in the case tied to the “Friends” star’s death.

Chavez’s plea follows a deal with prosecutors in exchange for his cooperation as they focus on two other key figures: Dr. Salvador Plasencia, accused of selling Perry ketamine, and alleged dealer Jasveen Sangha, known as LA’s “ketamine queen.” Both await trial.

Chavez admitted to illegally obtaining ketamine from his clinic and a distributor to supply it to Perry, who had been seeking more of the drug after his legal treatments for depression. Perry was found dead on October 28, 2023, with ketamine listed as the cause of death. Chavez could face up to 10 years in prison when sentenced.
