Man Charged in Fargo Car Theft

Dilworth (trfnews.i234.me) – A Dilworth man is facing a felony theft charge after a vehicle was stolen in Fargo. According to court documents, Trevor D. Nelson of Dilworth has been charged with felony theft of property.

On October 20th, a car was reported stolen from the parking lot of a business on 13th Avenue South in Fargo. Authorities began an investigation and later tracked down the stolen vehicle three days later at a Fargo motel. Nelson was found with the vehicle and was taken into custody without incident.

Court filings show Nelson is now facing a felony theft charge in Cass County District Court. The complaint states the car was confirmed stolen through vehicle identification records. Police say surveillance video helped identify Nelson as the suspect connected to the incident.

Nelson was booked into the Cass County Jail, where he awaits his first court appearance. The vehicle has since been recovered and returned to its owner. No injuries were reported in connection with the theft.

The case remains under investigation. Theft of property in North Dakota is a serious offense that can lead to significant prison time and fines. More information about theft penalties can be found through the North Dakota Courts and state government resources.
