DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) — A gun-related incident near Sweetwater Elementary School in Devils Lake led to a school lockdown on Monday. Police say Joseph Gleason, the suspect at the center of the standoff, refused to exit a nearby house. The tense situation began early in the morning and lasted until around 1:30 PM when authorities safely took Gleason into custody.
Gleason has been booked at the Lake Region Law Enforcement Center on charges of burglary, terrorizing, and reckless endangerment. Thankfully, no injuries were reported during the incident.
The school was placed in lockdown as a precaution, but no students or staff were harmed during the ordeal.
