Devils Lake lifts boil order – Obituary

DEVILS LAKE — The boil order issued for Devils Lake following a water main break has been lifted as of 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19.

Samples from the city’s water were collected on Tuesday and were found to be satisfactory with adequate disinfectant levels measured through the water system, a press release said. The water is safe to drink.

“When initially using the water supply, users may experience some air within their lines or some minor discoloration,” the release said. “If you do experience this, run your cold-water tap (ideally through a bathtub) until the water is clear or the air is blown out.”

on Monday, Feb. 17, as the loss of water pressure to the system could have introduced disease-causing organisms to enter the water distribution system.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
