Detroit Lakes (trfnews.i234.me) — Brandi Marie Olive Skramstad, 30, of Detroit Lakes, has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony fifth-degree drug possession, gross misdemeanor interfering with an emergency call, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
Incident Details
On March 14, at approximately 10:12 a.m., a Becker County sheriff’s deputy responded to a 911 call reporting a disturbance at a residence near Callaway. Upon arrival, the deputy found Skramstad on the front porch, holding a beer and appearing heavily intoxicated. She informed the deputy that her father was inside, awaiting discussion.
Inside, her father recounted that Skramstad had become violent, yelling, shoving, and pushing. He also stated she seized his phone during his 911 call, and threatened him, but he did not fear for his safety. Notably, his other daughter had left due to Skramstad’s behavior.
When the deputy spoke with Skramstad, she was still on her father’s phone. She admitted to grabbing it from his hand. A preliminary breath test indicated a blood alcohol content of 0.148%.
Arrest and Subsequent Findings
Skramstad was informed of her arrest. As the deputy attempted to handcuff her and place her in the squad car, she resisted but eventually complied. At the Becker County Jail, a search revealed a small bag containing a white crystal-like substance in her hair. The substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine, weighing 0.79 grams.
Legal Proceedings
Skramstad appeared in court on March 17 before District Court Judge Michael D. Fritz. Bail was set at $10,000 without conditions, $2,000 non-cash bond with conditions, or $200 cash bail with conditions. Her next court appearance, an omnibus hearing, is scheduled for April 14.
