Becker County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Spencer George Eliasson, 19, of Detroit Lakes, has been charged with felony third-degree assault in Becker County District Court following a violent altercation on December 3, 2023.
According to court records, police were dispatched to an apartment building in Detroit Lakes after a report of an assault. The victim, identified as the boyfriend of the caller, was found with a swollen, scratched nose, bleeding from the face. He told officers that while arguing with his girlfriend in the hallway, they passed a man who accused him of hitting her. The confrontation escalated when the man kicked the boyfriend in the face, causing him to fall down the stairs. The attacker and a friend then continued to kick and punch the boyfriend before fleeing.
Witnesses identified the assailant as Eliasson and his accomplice as Austin Westa King. The following day, the boyfriend sought medical care and was diagnosed with a fractured nasal bone.
Eliasson was released on July 11 without bail, under conditions including no contact with the victim. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 26 before District Judge Gretchen Thilmony.
