Deputy Shoots Suspect Following Larimore Murder

LARIMORE, ND ( –┬áIn a dramatic turn of events, a suspect was shot and wounded by a deputy in Larimore, North Dakota, on Saturday afternoon, following a reported homicide earlier in the day.

Here’s the unfolding story:

  1. Initial Report: Grand Forks County Sheriff Andy Schneider revealed that deputies responded to a call reporting a homicide at a residence in Larimore. The deputies swiftly established a perimeter around the area.
  2. SWAT Team Response: Regional SWAT and UAS teams were called in for assistance. Nearby residents were alerted to evacuate or secure their homes.
  3. Confrontation: After attempts to contact the suspect in the residence failed, the SWAT team breached the front door. The suspect then fired several rounds at the SWAT vehicle.
  4. Deputy’s Action: Negotiations to peacefully surrender were ongoing when the suspect made a sudden movement toward his waist. In response, a deputy fired, hitting the suspect.
  5. Investigation: The incident is under investigation by the North Dakota BCI. The names of the victim and suspect have not been released.
