WASHINGTON COUNTY, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) – A vehicle driven by 58-year-old Washington County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Campbell Blair was involved in a head-on collision on Highway 95 on October 27. The incident occurred at approximately 11:00 a.m.
According to charging documents, multiple witnesses observed Blair’s vehicle swerving erratically before striking an SUV carrying two adults and five children. The impact occurred in the highway’s southbound lanes, with Blair’s vehicle driving over the center line and colliding with the victim’s vehicle.
Minnesota State troopers responded to the scene but did not conduct field sobriety tests on Blair due to his injuries. However, a later preliminary breath test (PBT) sample showed a result of 0.092.
The driver of the SUV was hospitalized, while information regarding the condition of the children will be released at a later time.
Blair has been placed on administrative leave and is facing charges related to driving under the influence. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has opened an internal investigation into the incident.
