Demolition Possible for Two Crime-Infested Bemidji Apartment Complexes

BEMIDJI, MN (trfnews.i234.me) A Fargo property management company now says it’s vacating a second, crime ridden apartment building in Bemidji.
back in may neta property management out of fargo was ordered to vacate this crime-ridden apartment building it now sounds like this one and the one next to it could fall to the wrecking ball this from neta property management quote neta property management has managed the bemidji properties known as richard court 1 and ridgeway court 2 located at 2800 2830 2910 and 2938 ridgeway avenue for over 30 years in that time as we do with all our properties we have expanded uh expended significant resources to maintain and improve the properties and to keep our residents happy with their homes despite our best efforts to keep ridgeway one and two which is this building and the one next to it secure and operational over the course of the last few years the properties have been a constant spot for criminal activity including drug use and vandalism more recently the drug use and vandalism have become a daily occurrence the significant uptick in crimes have has led neta to replacing or repairing windows doors and security cameras on what seems to be an around-the-clock basis at the building our staff do not feel safe at the buildings we are having difficulty locating vendors who will come to the buildings to perform repairs and most importantly our residents do not feel safe despite our repeated requests local law enforcement has not been able to put a stop to the ongoing crime many of the individuals involved in the criminal activity are not residents and we and the police have not been able to stop their regular incursions into the buildings the owners have sought buyers for the buildings uh to no avail bridgeway 1 and ridgeway 2 are now being foreclosed upon neta anticipates that absent the last minute buyer who can save the day upon foreclosure ridgeway wine ridgeway 2 will cease to operate as rental properties the owners are encouraging residents to move from the buildings and are working with the united states department of agriculture to procrea procure available housing assistance to help the residents find new affordable housing this is an unfortunate end to our management of ridgeway one and ridgeway two our priority now is to close the buildings so they are no longer a health and safety issue for the bemidji community and the residents unquote that was from neta property management in fargo i’m neil carlson reporting for inews dot tv
