Blaine, Anoka County (trfnews.i234.me) – A fatal shooting rocked Northtown Mall in Blaine, Minnesota, late Friday afternoon, prompting a swift police and EMS response to the scene.
At approximately 5:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to 398 Northtown Drive NE after reports of gunfire in the parking lot. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries.
According to investigators, three males were seen fleeing the scene. One suspect has since been detained, while the other two remain at large as of Saturday night.
The mall was placed on temporary lockdown as a safety measure while police secured the area. Authorities assure the public that there is no ongoing threat.
This is at least the second shooting incident at Northtown Mall within a year. A similar event occurred last fall, though no one was injured.
The investigation is ongoing, and more information may be released soon.
