Moen was arrested in August 2023 after calling police to report that his wife Sonja had fallen asleep in their bathtub and was unresponsive. However, an autopsy revealed a more sinister truth: Sonja died from blunt force trauma to the head with at least one broken rib.
The courtroom was packed as both sides questioned potential jurors, seeking to determine whether they should sit on the jury for Moen’s trial. The couple’s children may also take the stand and testify during the proceedings.
