NEW ROCKFORD, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – A collision occurred on Monday around 11 a.m. involving a train and a BNSF service vehicle approximately 2.5 miles northwest of New Rockford, North Dakota.
According to Eddy County Sheriff Paul Lies, the BNSF train struck the BNSF service vehicle as it backed across the railroad tracks. The driver of the service vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the vehicle was transported by ambulance to Carrington Hospital for treatment. Their condition is unknown.
The victim’s name has not been released pending further investigation.
The Eddy County Sheriff’s Office, BNSF, and the National Transportation Safety Board are jointly investigating the incident.
