Wright County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Dassel woman is facing a new driving charge after a late-night stop in Waverly.
Charge filed
April May Saravia, 44, of Dassel, is charged with Driving After Cancellation with an ignition interlock restriction.
The charge is a gross misdemeanor, according to the criminal complaint.
Driving after cancellation means a person drives when the state has canceled driving privileges.
What the police say happened
Court documents say a deputy saw a vehicle with a driver-side headlight that was not working.
The vehicle was on U.S. Highway 12 near Waverly, the complaint says.
The deputy stopped the vehicle at about 10:03 p.m. on February 6, 2026, according to the filing.
The driver was identified as Saravia, the complaint says.
The deputy checked her license status and saw an ignition interlock restriction.
That restriction requires an interlock device in any vehicle she operates.
The deputy inspected the vehicle and reported that no interlock device was installed.
The complaint says Saravia admitted the device was not installed.
The filing also lists prior interlock violations on October 21, 2025, and December 20, 2025.

Ignition interlock basics
An ignition interlock is a breath-testing device connected to a vehicle’s starter.
Drivers must pass a test before the vehicle can start.
Interlock rules can apply after certain license actions.
Program details and forms are provided by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.
Court and bail
Court records say Saravia was charged by an Order of Detention.
A bail hearing was held in Wright County District Court.
Judge Suzanne Bollman set bail at $0 with conditions of release.
The judge also set an alternative bail of $2,000 without conditions.
Future court dates will be set by the court, according to standard procedure.
