William Elmo Tabb III, 63, of Darwin, is charged with felony fifth-degree drug possession. He also faces a gross misdemeanor ammo charge. The complaint describes him as an unlawful user of a controlled substance.

The criminal complaint says agents with the CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force served the warrant. It happened on February 19, 2026. The time was about 4:48 p.m. The address was in the 600 block of North 1st Street.

The warrant allowed a search of the home and Tabb’s vehicle. The complaint says Judge Laurence Straton signed the warrant.

Agents said they found Tabb outside the home. They detained him during entry. They then announced their presence and entered the residence.

Inside, agents found two other people in a north-side bedroom. They were Caesar Franco and Michelle Marie Olson.

Agents then searched a south bedroom that they linked to Tabb. The complaint cites documents and photos found inside.

In that room, agents report finding a Ziploc bag with a crystal substance. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine. The complaint lists the weight as about 2.5 grams.

Agents also report finding crystal residue in a picture frame. The complaint lists that residue at 0.07 grams. Agents also reported a snort tube.

Investigators also reported finding shotgun and handgun rounds. The complaint does not list a firearm.

In the north bedroom, agents reported drug items and meth residue. The complaint says a K9 unit helped search a vehicle tied to another occupant. The K9 unit was from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office.

What happens next

Tabb was charged with an Order of Detention. The complaint says Judge Stephen John Wentzell signed the order. The order calls for detention, pending more court action.
