NECHE, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – On January 18, 2025, in Neche, North Dakota, law enforcement responded to a reported incident involving Dalton L. Richey, 28. Richey has been charged with felony terrorizing and misdemeanors of domestic assault and preventing arrest.
Upon arrival, officers observed Richey outside the residence without a shirt, holding a coat and two beer cans, with visible blood on his face, chest, arms, and hands. The temperature was 8°F. When approached, Richey exhibited severely slurred speech and refused medical assistance. He became agitated, expressed disdain for law enforcement, and advanced toward an officer, disregarding commands to stop.
Officers attempted to detain Richey for further investigation. He resisted, clenched his fists, and moved toward the garage, where he punched the wall and fell. Officers then handcuffed and arrested him.
The female victim reported that Richey had struck her chest, placed his hand around her neck without significant pressure, possessed a knife, inflicted self-injury, and stabbed the wall multiple times.
