Dakota County Horror: Man Dies After Slamming Into Ditch & Sign in Burnsville Crash!

BURNSVILLE, Dakota County (trfnews.i234.me) — A tragic incident unfolded Sunday morning in Burnsville, Dakota County, when a single-vehicle crash turned fatal. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, around 9:41 a.m. on March 16, 2025, a 2006 Volvo S60 driven by 68-year-old Joseph Ferdinand Bluemke of Burnsville, MN, was traveling northbound on Interstate 35E. Authorities say the vehicle veered off the road, entered the right ditch, and struck a sign before coming to a stop on County Road 11.

Despite airbags deploying and the driver wearing a seatbelt, Bluemke tragically did not survive the crash. No alcohol was involved, and the road conditions were reported as dry at the time of the incident. Burnsville Police, Fire Department, and EMS responded promptly to the scene.

The Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate the fatal crash. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the East Metro District office at 651-779-5900 or speak directly with MSP PIO Lt. Michael Lee at (651) 343-4680.
