Curt Underdahl, of Thief River Falls, MN passed away on Thursday, April
13, 2023 at Sanford Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN, at the age of 79.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Thursday, April 20,
2023 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Burial will be
held at the Huntly Cemetery, in rural Middle River, MN.
Curt Allen Underdahl was born on May 2, 1943, to Sigaurd and Cynthia
Mae (Kneeskern) Underdahl. He was raised on a farm near Middle River,
MN.
On November 15, 1969, Curt was united in marriage to Beverly Johnson at
Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN. The couple lived in
Chokoloskee, FL for 19 years where he was employed as a groundskeeper
an outdoor resort and also an oceanside seafood restaurant. The couple
returned to Minnesota in 2004 where Curt was employed by TRF Pallet.
Curt enjoyed raising animals and birds of all types. As he reached
retirement age he spent a lot of time raising birds of all types, gardening,
visiting with friends and telling stories, watching wildlife outside his home
while enjoying coffee, and fishing.
Curt is survived by his children Rhonda Peterson and Kirk Walton; three
grandchildren Tonya Olson, Kanisha Wilkinson, and Tavi Walton; five great-
grandchildren, Lola Levenhagen, Huck Walseth, and Nash Walseth,
McKayla Wagge, and Sawyer Hoy; sisters-in-law, Muriel Underdahl,
Yvonne, Marlene Babcock, Barbara Harrig, and Charemon Marney;
brothers-in-law, Leonard Johnson, Peter Johnson, Lester Johnson; along
with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins,
relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; parents, Sig and Mae
Underdahl; brothers, Glenn Underdahl, Clifford Underdahl, Levern
Underdahl, Harvey Underdahl, and Elton Underdahl; sister, Shirley
Anderson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marvin and Irene Johnson.
