Crow Wing County (trfnews.i234.me) – In one of Minnesota’s most disturbing criminal cases, 34-year-old Jorden Nicole Borders of Crosslake has been found guilty on all counts in a child torture and attempted murder case involving her three children.

On June 4, 2025, Judge Patricia Aanes convicted Borders in Crow Wing County District Court on 11 charges: 1 count of first-degree attempted murder, 3 counts of child torture, 3 counts of stalking, and 4 counts of medical fraud.

Borders, who sat stone-faced as the verdict was read, was immediately remanded to custody. Sentencing is scheduled for August 7 at 1:30 p.m.

Prosecutors revealed harrowing details, including the children’s extreme vulnerability and abuse occurring in each other’s presence. The cruelty was deemed severe enough to seek an upward departure in sentencing.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison called the facts “horrifying” and praised the legal team and investigators for holding Borders accountable.

Borders, who opted for a bench trial, plans to appeal the verdict. Her long, troubling history with child protective services left many wondering how the abuse continued for so long.
