Crookston (trfnews.i234.me) – A Crookston man is now facing serious legal trouble following an ongoing narcotics investigation in Polk County.
Court records show that Kane Rodriguez has been charged with seven felony counts related to cocaine trafficking. Authorities allege that between March and August, Rodriguez sold cocaine on multiple occasions at his residence on Memorial Drive.
According to the complaint, a confidential informant worked with investigators during the drug sting. In March, June, July, and August, the informant reportedly purchased cocaine directly from Rodriguez at his home located at 1221 Memorial Drive, Crookston.
Prosecutors have filed seven separate felony counts of controlled substance sales. Each charge carries a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison and substantial fines. Combined, Rodriguez could face decades behind bars if convicted on all counts.
The investigation highlights continued law enforcement efforts to reduce drug trafficking in northwestern Minnesota. Cases like this one are part of broader regional efforts to combat the supply and distribution of narcotics. Authorities say that confidential informants remain a key tool in tracking drug activity and building felony cases.
Rodriguez remains in custody pending future court appearances. No trial date has been set.

The Polk County Attorney’s Office has not released additional details regarding potential co-defendants or larger drug operations connected to the case.
This is a developing story, and updates are expected as the case moves forward in court.
