GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – Angel Alberto Torres-Sosa, 32, of Crookston, is set to stand trial later this year in Grand Forks on four felony charges, including kidnapping and attempted gross sexual imposition by using force, both Class A felonies with a maximum 20-year sentence in North Dakota. He also faces charges of aggravated assault and terrorizing, classified as Class C felonies.

The charges stem from an incident on October 15, where Torres-Sosa allegedly met with the victim at the Diamond Lounge in Grand Forks, promising a ride home but instead driving them to an unknown location. The victim reported being taken to a basement, where Torres-Sosa choked them after they resisted his advances, causing them to lose consciousness. They managed to escape after regaining consciousness.

Torres-Sosa, who claimed he did not remember the events after leaving the lounge, is currently awaiting trial. A status conference is scheduled for December 9, with a jury trial expected to commence the following day.
