Polk County (trfnews.i234.me) — According to a criminal complaint, Isaiah James Knutson faces nine charges after a chaotic incident in Polk County.

The case was filed in Minnesota District Court for Polk County. The complaint lists gross misdemeanor DWI counts and several misdemeanor counts. Those include assault, obstruction, and disorderly conduct.

Charges Filed In Polk County Case

Prosecutors charged Knutson with two third-degree DWI counts and two fourth-degree DWI counts. He also faces two fifth-degree assault counts, one obstruction count, and two disorderly conduct counts.

The complaint says the DWI charges stem from alleged physical control of a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Investigators also allege his blood alcohol concentration was above the legal limit. The complaint further alleges that his level exceeded 0.16.

Readers can review the cited Minnesota DWI law, the fifth-degree assault statute, and public filings through Minnesota Court Records Online.

What The Complaint Says Happened

Investigators said deputies were sent to the overflow parking lot north of the Maple Lake Pavilion around 12:30 a.m. The complaint says Knutson was yelling, belligerent, and showed signs of heavy drinking.

Witnesses told deputies he grabbed a woman, got aggressive, and scratched a pickup. The complaint says S.J. was the sober driver. It also says Knutson climbed into the driver’s seat of a running truck. The vehicle was in park at the time.

S.J. told deputies she was scared he might drive away. The complaint says Knutson then pushed S.J. against the truck and into an open door. J.N. then stepped in and pulled him away, according to the filing. Investigators say Knutson then tried to punch J.N., and a fight followed.

Blood Test And Case Status

Deputies also said Knutson resisted efforts to place him in a squad car. The complaint says he went limp and would not cooperate.

At Riverview emergency room in Crookston, a blood sample was taken after a judge approved a warrant. The complaint says the sample was collected at 2:44 a.m. A BCA report later listed his blood alcohol concentration at 0.231.

The complaint remains an allegation, and the case is still pending in court. No conviction has been reported in the case at this stage.
