Crookston, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fargo man is facing serious drug and DWI charges after Crookston Police stopped his vehicle near Wildflower Park late on July 3, 2025.
Heriberto Gutierrez Jr., 52, was pulled over just after 11:30 PM for expired registration. Officers observed signs of drug impairment and arrested him after field sobriety tests.
During a search of the vehicle, police found two glass pipes, one of which tested positive for methamphetamine. Gutierrez admitted he knew the pipes were there and claimed a friend asked him to bring them.
He now faces two charges:

Felony Controlled Substance Crime in the Third Degree – for possessing meth within a prohibited park zone, punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

Gross Misdemeanor Third-Degree DWI – due to meth in his system and a prior DWI conviction in 2023.
A blood sample was sent to the BCA for further analysis.
