CROOKSTON, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – We have an update regarding a large police presence and arrest in Crookston early Sunday morning.
According to court documents, Christopher D. Morlan of Crookston is now facing multiple drug-related charges after an incident that began around 2:30 a.m.
Police say an officer was following a suspicious vehicle when the driver suddenly sped away. Moments later, officers found the vehicle had crashed into a retaining wall on South Ash Street.
Morlan allegedly fled on foot but was tased and taken into custody a short distance from the crash scene. Officers reportedly recovered a pipe and about 25 grams of suspected methamphetamine from the vehicle.
Morlan is charged with felony possession of 25 grams or more of methamphetamine, felony possession of meth in a prohibited zone near a park, and gross misdemeanor DWI – meth.
The Crookston Police Department reminds residents that increased patrols remain in effect in high-traffic and park areas as part of ongoing drug enforcement efforts.
