Crookston ( trfnews.i234.me ) – Authorities responded to a crash involving a car and a semi-truck in Crookston, Minnesota, on Tuesday afternoon. The accident occurred on South Main Street near the SunOpta Sunflower plant. Emergency calls were dispatched at approximately 1:07 p.m., directing Kenson Ambulance and other responders to the scene.
When first responders arrived, they found the car on its side following the impact. Witnesses reported seeing rescuers help the female driver exit through the windshield. According to one witness, the driver was able to walk away but was transported by ambulance for evaluation.
At this time, officials have not confirmed how the crash occurred. It remains unclear whether one vehicle pulled out in front of the other or if an attempted pass played a role. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Despite the severity of the crash, no serious injuries were reported. The semi driver was not believed to be injured. Traffic in the area was briefly slowed while crews worked to clear the scene. The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers at busy intersections and along industrial corridors where heavy truck traffic is common.
