Crookston Boy on Bike Struck by Vehicle

CROOKSTON, POLK COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — Authorities have released more details following a vehicle-pedestrian accident in Crookston on Thursday afternoon.

According to police, the crash happened at about 3:35 p.m. at the intersection of East Robert Street and Bridge Street. A 10-year-old boy from Crookston was riding his bicycle eastbound in the crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle.

Investigators say a 2020 Ford Explorer, driven by 20-year-old Kyrie Schehr of Crookston, was traveling southbound on Bridge Street when the collision occurred. The boy was transported by ambulance to Riverview ER in Crookston. The extent of his injuries is not yet known.

The incident remains under active investigation. Officials have not announced whether any charges or citations will be issued in connection with the crash.

Residents are reminded to use caution at intersections and crosswalks, especially in busy areas of the community. Authorities stress that both drivers and cyclists must remain alert to avoid such incidents.
