Here’s an update on Covid-19 from over the weekend. On Friday, Inter County Nursing reported 27 new cases in Pennington County, 9 on Saturday and 8 on Sunday. Friday’s update from Inter County also said that Pennington County was the number one ranked county in Minnesota for total positive Covid-19 cases per 100,000 people. Pennington County also performed second-dose vaccinations on Saturday and Sunday. The vaccination clinic was rescheduled from Friday and Saturday but was moved to Saturday and Sunday because of last week’s winter weather.

North Valley Public Health announced they will be doing COVID-19 vaccinations on Thursday (2-25-21) in Newfolden from 9am-11am and Stephen from 1pm-3pm for Marshall County residents aged 65 and older. These appointments are limited please register as soon as possible. We will be doing vaccination clinics at other communities around Marshall County in the future.

On Thursday, Governor Tim Walz announced the launch of the Minnesota COVID-19 Vaccine Connector, a tool that helps all Minnesotans find out when, where, and how to get their COVID-19 vaccine. Minnesotans who have not yet been vaccinated are encouraged to sign up for the COVID-19 Vaccine Connector, regardless of their current vaccine eligibility status. There will be no cost and no restricted time period for signing up. Minnesotans can sign up at mn.gov/vaccineconnector  and those who are unable to sign up online can call 833-431-2053 for assistance signing up over the phone. Translation is available by phone in all languages.

Kittson County Memorial Healthcare discouraged residents against travel in the Thief River Falls area due to the increasing cases and outbreak of COVID-19, until the outbreak is contained.
