Cottonwood County: Kia Optima Slams Into Tractor on Hwy 60 – One Hospitalized

Cottonwood County (trfnews.i234.me) — An unusual collision involving a 2010 Kia Optima and a 1976 White 2-70 farm tractor sent one driver to the hospital on March 18, 2025, in Lakeside Township, Cottonwood County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, both vehicles were traveling eastbound on MN Highway 60 near milepost 43 when the Kia collided with the tractor just before 1:00 p.m. under dry road conditions.

The driver of the Kia, Rachel Ann Rehm, age 49, from St. James, MN, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Windom Hospital.

The tractor was operated by Bruce William Axford, age 65, from Windom, MN, who was not injured and did not require medical transport.

Responding agencies included the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, Windom Police Department, Windom Fire Department, and Windom Ambulance Service.

Alcohol was not involved in this crash, and authorities continue to investigate.
