Connection To Missing Person? 1960’s Car Found At Bottom Of Mississippi River In Sartell, Minnesota

SARTELL, MN (trfnews.i234.me) A investigation is underway after a 1960’s car was found at the bottom of the Mississippi River at Sartell, Minnesota. Authorities are now trying to determine if its linked to a 1967 missing person case in that area.
We have a cold case file out of the bottom of the Mississippi River at Sartell, Minnesota. This from the Sterns County Sheriff’s Office. Sunday, they were contacted by a fisherman who observed an anomaly in his sonar finder while fishing the Mississippi River. The fisherman believed it was a car in the river. Sterns County Sheriff’s Office water patrol responded and observed the same thing as the fisherman and marked the location for further research. The Stern Benton County Sheriff’s Office dive team organized a search for the area on August 13th. Uh at today at approximately 10:00 a.m. the dive team located a car in the river bottom. The car was half full of sediment, although the dive team members were able to determine the car appeared to be from the 1960s. The dive team contacted a local tow company to assist in the removal of this car. At the time of this release, the car has not been removed from the river. Sterns County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office in regard to a missing person case from September 25th of 1967. However, at this time, it’s unknown if this car is related to that missing person’s case. Uh both the Sterns and Benton County Sheriff’s offices are not aware of any other missing person or cases of interest in the area. They’re working with Sartell police to investigate the matter further. I’m Bob Carlson reporting for i news.tv.
