Clay County (trfnews.i234.me) — A 26-year-old Moorhead woman is facing a trio of serious charges after being taken into custody in the early morning hours of March 27, 2025.

McKenzie Lynn Ross was arrested by the Moorhead Police Department and booked into the Clay County jail shortly after midnight. The charges she now faces are as follows:

  • 1st Degree Aggravated Controlled Substance Crime – with Two Aggravating Factors

  • 5th Degree Controlled Substance Possession – Schedule I-IV (Not Small Amount Marijuana)

  • Carrying a BB Gun, Rifle, Shotgun, or Assault Weapon in Public

These charges indicate felony-level drug activity and weapons possession, with the most severe being the 1st-degree aggravated drug charge, which often carries mandatory prison time if convicted.

Ross is currently awaiting her first court appearance, and further details are expected to emerge regarding the scale of the drug activity involved and the nature of the weapon.
