Clay County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — A Brainerd woman with a prior felony theft conviction is now facing another felony charge after allegedly attempting a birthday bag shoplifting heist at a Walmart in Dilworth.
Rosanne Beatrice Bauer, 50, was caught on surveillance stuffing store items into Walmart-branded birthday gift bags on May 24, 2025, before walking past all points of sale without paying. According to police, a male associate distracted the greeter as Bauer exited.
Dilworth Police located Bauer outside the store with $902.97 worth of unpaid merchandise still in her cart. Bauer has a prior felony theft conviction from 2022 in Crow Wing County (Case No. 80-CR-21-866), which elevates this new offense to a felony.
She now faces one count of:
-
Theft – Take/Use/Transfer Movable Property Without Consent, a felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
