Clay County: Moorhead Man Charged In Assault

Clay County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Moorhead man has been charged with a felony after a woman reported being shoved to the ground and injured.

Recent court information lists Gino James Acker of Moorhead as the defendant. He faces one count of Third Degree Assault – Inflict Substantial Bodily Harm.

Gino James Acker is charged in Clay County with third-degree assault. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

According to the complaint, the woman reported the incident on November 15, 2025. She said Acker became angry during a dispute.

She told investigators that Acker shoved her forcefully to the ground. She tried to break her fall with her arms as she went down.

Officials say she suffered a cut that required eight stitches. That level of injury meets the legal standard for “substantial bodily harm.”

Court records show Acker was booked into the Clay County Jail on November 24, 2025. The booking listed the same third-degree assault charge now filed in court.

The case remains active as of early December 2025. Acker’s future court dates will be set by Clay County District Court.

Members of the public can follow the case through official sites. The Clay County inmate roster and jail information are available at claycountymn.gov. Statewide court records and calendars can be searched at mncourts.gov.

Third-degree assault is a serious felony in Minnesota. A conviction can lead to prison time, fines, and a lasting criminal record.

At this stage, the charge against Gino James Acker is only an allegation. He is presumed innocent unless and until a judge or jury finds him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

TRF News will continue to review public records and report new details as they become available.
