Moorhead, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A shocking act of violence unfolded in Clay County this Sunday morning. Just after 9:30 a.m., Moorhead Police responded to reports of gunfire in the 2700 block of 14th Street South. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with a gunshot wound. Despite emergency efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not released the victim’s identity. The suspect, described as fleeing in a light green, newer-model Chevrolet midsize SUV, remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. The public is advised not to approach the vehicle or its occupant and to contact the Red River Regional Dispatch Center at (701) 451-7660 with any information.

The incident occurred near the Probstfield Center for Education, prompting police to cordon off a four-block radius around the crime scene. Investigators from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension have been called in to assist with the ongoing investigation. Authorities believe the shooting was targeted and not a random act.

Emergency services, including the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Dilworth Police Department, Moorhead Fire Department, and Sanford Ambulance, responded to the scene. Law enforcement officials are working diligently to gather evidence and ensure public safety.
