Clay County (trfnews.i234.me) – A horrifying drive-by shooting in Moorhead, Minnesota, has led to the arrest of 33-year-old Jerome Anthony Thomas III, now facing multiple charges, including first-degree murder with premeditation. Authorities say that around 9:30 a.m. on a Sunday, police responded to a home on 14th Street South where 39-year-old James Earl Hamilton was found shot in the head and declared dead at the scene.

Surveillance video showed a green Chevrolet Trax with Indiana plates slowly driving by before three gunshots rang out. A juvenile witness, standing beside Hamilton, identified the shooter as Jerome Thomas. A fourth shot was later heard by a 911 caller. Another witness—Hamilton’s girlfriend—reported that Thomas confronted her down the street and fired at her vehicle before fleeing.

The vehicle, registered to an acquaintance, was later tracked to rural Michigan. Inside the home where Thomas had allegedly been staying, authorities found a red sweatshirt, an empty gun box, and matching ammunition. Thomas now faces charges including first-degree murder, attempted murder, and drive-by shooting. If convicted, he faces life in prison.
