Moorhead, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — A 9-year-old Moorhead boy was tragically killed after being struck by a City of Moorhead public works truck late Thursday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:44 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, at the intersection of 40th Avenue and 14th Street South in Moorhead.
Crash Details
According to initial reports, the city-owned Mack straight truck was traveling northbound on 14th Street South when it struck the child in a marked crosswalk.
The pedestrian has been identified as Adam Zakaria Amin, 9, of Moorhead. Authorities confirmed that he died at the scene.
The truck was operated by 64-year-old Victor Carl Port, of West Fargo, who was not injured in the crash. Officials said Port was wearing a seat belt, and no airbags deployed. He was working on behalf of the City of Moorhead’s Public Works Department at the time of the incident.
