Clay County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – Two men are facing serious felony-level domestic assault charges in Moorhead following separate incidents reported in mid-September.

According to court documents, Mikequann Plummer has been charged with felony domestic assault based on having two or more previous convictions within the past ten years. He also faces a charge of fifth-degree assault, two or more convictions within the past three years.

On September 15th, police responded to a Moorhead residence after a report of a domestic disturbance. The female victim stated that during an argument over a television remote, Plummer allegedly choked her. She told officers the assault caused her to have a seizure. Plummer was taken into custody and formally charged.

In a separate case, Joseph James Roy of West Fargo is facing charges of felony domestic assault by strangulation and third-degree assault causing substantial bodily harm. Court documents show the incident happened on September 14th at a Moorhead apartment.

The female victim reported that Roy choked her and kneed her in the face during the altercation. Officers confirmed visible injuries at the scene, and Roy was later arrested and charged.

Both cases remain under investigation as they move forward through the court system. Felony domestic assault convictions in Minnesota can result in significant prison sentences, fines, and extended probation. For more information on Minnesota domestic assault laws, visit the Minnesota Statutes.
