Clash Over Mining in Minnesota’s Boundary Waters: Diverse Opinions Emerge

BOUNDARY WATERS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – The Boundary Waters Action Fund is opposing former President Donald Trump’s recent remarks at a Lincoln Reagan dinner about lifting the federal mining ban in the Superior National Forest. Director Alex Falconer emphasized that Trump does not represent the majority of Minnesotans, noting that over 70% of residents support protecting the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCA) from sulfide-ore copper mining. Falconer also highlighted that since Trump left office, President Biden has taken steps to safeguard the Boundary Waters, including reinstating a crucial study on the risks of mining in the region’s headwaters.
