Cindy Sundet – TRF News

Cindy Lou Trosen Sundet passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026, at the age of 68, surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous and grace-filled battle with ovarian cancer. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, Cindy will be remembered for her sincerity, integrity, gentleness, and the deep love and encouragement she shared so freely with others.

Cindy moved through life with lightness, passion, inspiration, and joy. She had a rare gift for seeing people. She discovered something special in everyone she met and found her greatest joy in celebrating those gifts, making each person feel truly known and cherished.

Cindy was born on January 5, 1958 in Larimore, North Dakota where she enjoyed a wonderful childhood and met lifelong friends. She attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and went on to build a highly successful family dental practice. She was known not only for her skill, but for the genuine care and kindness she showed to every patient, many of whom became close friends. On June 27, 1981, Cindy married the love of her life, Scott Sundet. Together, they built a beautiful partnership that blossomed through the years. They shared what she described as a full and rewarding life raising their children, working side by side in their meaningful businesses, spending quality time with friends and family, and enjoying the outdoors together.

Cindy’s favorite role was as “Gigi”. She adored her grandchildren and delighted in spending time together. Through shared moments of curiosity and joy, she passed on her love of life, nature, reading, science, history, creativity, and fun, leaving an enduring legacy in each of them.

Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, Duane and Shirley Trosen, and her brother, Terry Trosen. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Scott Sundet; her children Andrew (Elizabeth “Betsy” Strachota) Sundet, and Kristin (Casey) Pavek, her six beloved grandchildren, and many dear family and friends who will carry her memory forward.
