the charges have just been filed late on this friday afternoon in connection to a shooting at this uh strip club on the east side of devil’s lake early last saturday morning mauricio kalindras of miami florida has been charged with felonies of attempted murder and aggravated assault and two misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment and a simple assault alex parra of devils lake is facing four felony charges of accomplice to attempted murder aggravated assault reckless endangerment and terrorizing plus a misdemeanor charge of a simple assault now according to the criminal complaint here’s what happened the names of the victim and witnesses have been deleted quote the deputy received a report of gunshots at wally’s road house this is last saturday at 12 50 a.m while on route devils lake police officer said he was behind the vehicle involved in the shooting and activated emergency lights and was in route to that location upon arrival devils lake police and the deputy had the vehicle stopped in the old fellows parking lot just off walnut and 12th avenue southeast officer drew his weapon and two males were ordered out of the vehicle with their hands up the vehicle was cleared as well highway patrol was on the scene at wally’s indicating there was a person with a gunshot wound he was going to tend to devils lake police secured two individuals from the vehicle one being uh mauricio calendres and the other being alex sparrow officer also indicated a firearm was located in the vehicle and the officer was in route to wallies upon arrival the officer observed a male shot in the left leg and identified him we are not identifying the victim here the victim was bleeding out of his left leg there were several witnesses on scene wanting to give a statement as to what happened another deputy from benson county arrived on the scene to assist he indicated to me that empty shell casings outside on the frontage road were located where the truck was said to have been parked when the shooting occurred there were also holes going through the enterway through the women’s bathroom into a hallway and into the male men’s bathroom side wall there was also a shot fired into the back game room after speaking with several witnesses it was said that kalindras has gotten into an altercation with another man witnesses stated they were trying to break up the fight and uh calendars yelled asking for the gun witness stated uh alex sparrow grabbed the weapon out of his truck calendars then went and got the weapon from uh sparrow uh calendars was said to have entered the bar again said a few things then went back outside and the first gunshots were heard while the shots were being fired there was a female in the restroom almost struck by a round kalindra’s also struck the victim in the leg after the incident uh kalindrasa played a video on snapchat indicating that he had to shoot because he was jumped again that was from the criminal complaint i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
