Chaos in Devils Lake: Confusion Over Evictions at Local Trailer Park

DEVILS LAKE, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – Dozens of residents at Pitcher Park Trailer Court in Devils Lake, North Dakota, have been blindsided by three-day eviction notices. The turmoil follows the park’s recent purchase by Hurston Sons from Port Orchard, Washington. According to the park manager, the evictions are due to unpaid rent, but many residents claim their rent is paid and are puzzled by the situation.

“I’ve been here since 2015, and suddenly, everyone is getting evicted,” said one long-time resident. “They say I owe money, but I have my receipts.”

The confusion appears widespread, with several other residents reporting similar issues. “Most of these folks got eviction notices,” said another resident, showing a row of trailers.

Ramsey County Sheriff Brian Lang confirmed that no civil action papers have been filed yet. “The company needs to go to court to get eviction notices,” he explained. “Then we would be obligated to serve those papers.”

Hurston Sons responded via email, stating their intent to maintain the park as a mobile home community and improve living conditions. They urged any resident receiving an incorrect notice to contact the park manager or corporate office.

The situation remains unresolved, and residents are left in limbo as the new owners’ policies take effect.
