Cavalier County (trfnews.i234.me)On May 9, 2025, a disturbing incident unfolded near Langdon, North Dakota, when a black bear was allegedly chased down and fatally shot from a vehicle. Robert Royce MacKall, a 51-year-old resident of Langdon, has been charged with two Class B misdemeanors: hunting or harassing game from a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of furbearers.

Each charge carries a maximum penalty of 30 days in jail and/or a $1,000 fine. According to reports, MacKall does not have a prior criminal history. The case has garnered significant attention, with many expressing outrage over the treatment of the bear.
