Cass Lake, Cass County (trfnews.i234.me) – A rural Cass Lake woman is facing serious felony assault charges after a brutal baseball bat attack left a male family member with severe injuries.
According to court documents, Latoya Black Lance was arrested in the early hours of June 9th at 12:34 a.m. after law enforcement responded to a violent domestic dispute. The victim told police he and Black Lance were drinking when a fight broke out. During the altercation, Black Lance reportedly got on top of him, punched him in the face, and then, as he tried to crawl away, struck him in the head with a baseball bat.
Officers documented serious injuries, including a scalp wound, facial bleeding, and a large back bruise. Police also observed blood on Black Lance’s pants and significant blood stains throughout the residence.
Black Lance has been formally charged with three felony counts of assault and remains in custody.
