Bemidji, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A Cass Lake man is now facing a felony DWI charge and more after allegedly refusing to submit to a court-ordered chemical test for meth, despite admitting recent drug use.

According to the complaint filed in Beltrami County District Court, Christopher Michael Steiner, 45, was pulled over on May 27, 2025 by Bemidji Police Officer Neal Warren for a window tint violation. The officer noted visible signs of drug impairment, and Steiner admitted he had no valid license and had used methamphetamine two days prior.

After failing to comply with field sobriety tests, Steiner was arrested. He later refused a blood or urine test, even after being shown a signed search warrant and warned that refusal is a crime.

Steiner’s driver’s license was cancelled as inimical to public safety, and he has a history of prior impaired driving offenses.

His passenger, Siveana Kayleen Taylor, was also arrested after allegedly revealing she was concealing 0.9 grams of suspected fentanyl and having an outstanding warrant.

I’m Chris Harper reporting for TRF News.
