Cass County (trfnews.i234.me) – A 22-year-old woman from New Town has been charged with felony aggravated assault after a stabbing at a South Fargo apartment on November 13. Court records say the victim suffered multiple stab wounds and a collapsed lung.

The suspect, identified as Tashyla Noel Feather, was charged Monday in Cass County District Court with aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon. She also faces a separate firearm charge for possession of a gun as a prohibited person.

Stabbing Reported at South Fargo Apartment

Police were called to an apartment complex in the 1100 block of 42nd Street South around 1:00 p.m. Officers found the victim in the parking lot with three stab wounds to her left arm and armpit area. A bystander had applied a makeshift tourniquet.

The victim was taken to Sanford Health. Doctors later found she had a collapsed lung. She was admitted for treatment.

Events Leading Up to the Assault

According to court documents, the victim had let Feather, her boyfriend, and two young children move into her apartment only two days earlier.

Earlier on the day of the stabbing, another person came to the apartment to retrieve a cell phone. The victim told officers that Feather pointed a gun at her and told her she could not open the door.

Search Warrant Reveals Signs of Struggle

Later that afternoon, police obtained a search warrant for the apartment. Officers reported finding blood on the kitchen floor, a red stain near a foosball table, and signs of a struggle. Furniture had been tipped over and items were scattered throughout the room.

Police also found personal items linked to Feather and her boyfriend, including an employee name tag and belongings discovered in a dumpster nearby.

Arrest at Local Hotel

Investigators found Feather and her boyfriend at the Holiday Inn Express. Her boyfriend was arrested on a separate charge of resisting officers. During booking, officers found a black Smith & Wesson handgun in Feather’s backpack, along with a magazine loaded with five rounds.

Feather is prohibited from possessing firearms due to prior felony convictions in Pierce County for theft and fleeing a peace officer in 2024. When questioned about the handgun, documents say she told officers to “just add it onto mine.”

Feather denied stabbing the victim during her police interview. She is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
