Walker, Cass County (trfnews.i234.me) — A chaotic Friday evening in Walker ended with a suspect shot in the arm after a tense confrontation with law enforcement.
The incident began around 6:35 p.m. when authorities received reports of a man wearing only boxers behaving erratically in a residential yard before fleeing on foot. Shortly after, witnesses reported seeing the man armed with a knife in downtown Walker, crossing State Highway 371 and entering the Holiday gas station area.
The suspect then moved toward the Dollar General store, where witnesses say he attempted to enter vehicles and eventually went inside the store while still armed. According to scanner traffic, the man threatened an employee, retreated to the back of the store, and began spraying bug killer at an officer while refusing commands to drop the knife.
The confrontation escalated outside the store, where the suspect continued to resist surrender. Moments later, law enforcement opened fire, striking the suspect in the arm. The individual was taken into custody, and medical personnel were called to treat the gunshot wound.
Investigators have been called to the scene, and additional details are expected as the investigation continues.
