Cass County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Tesla charging station in Fargo became the site of a suspicious fire early Friday morning, March 21, 2025. Firefighters responded to the Scheels parking lot on 45th Street South around 3:15 a.m., discovering a small fire in wood chips surrounding the charging station. A gas can was found nearby, leading officials to consider the fire intentional.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has taken over the investigation, collaborating with Fargo Police to identify the individual(s) responsible. This incident aligns with a national trend of hostility toward Tesla, coinciding with CEO Elon Musk’s role in the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency.
No injuries were reported, and the fire was extinguished promptly. However, the event has raised concerns among Tesla owners and officials about the increasing targeting of Tesla properties and vehicles.
