Cass County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Dilworth teenager, Tristin Coggins, is being charged as an adult in connection with a shooting at a New Year’s Eve party in Fargo that left multiple people injured.
On December 31, 2024, at approximately 10 p.m., a confrontation between two teenage boys escalated into gunfire at the Southwood Apartments in Fargo. During the altercation, a neighbor attempting to intervene was struck in the leg by a stray bullet. Three others sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Coggins fled the scene but was apprehended hours later at his residence in Dilworth. He now faces eight felony charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon, three counts of terrorizing with a dangerous weapon, three counts of reckless endangerment, and three counts of simple assault.
He appeared in court on March 21, 2025, where a $100,000 cash bond was set. His next court appearance is scheduled for April 24.
