Cass County, ND Deputy Fired, Investigation Turned Over To BCI

FARGO, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – Darren Viken, a longtime deputy and coordinator of the 24/7 Sobriety Program in Cass County, North Dakota, has been terminated from his position. Viken, a 19-year veteran of the sheriff’s office, was placed on administrative leave on July 17, 2024, and officially dismissed on July 22, 2024. The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation (ND BCI) is now handling the investigation into his actions.

Sheriff Jesse Jonner released a statement indicating that the Cass County Sheriff’s Office is cooperating fully with the ND BCI to ensure a thorough investigation. While the office aims to be transparent, specific details about the allegations against Viken are not being disclosed to maintain the integrity of the investigation.
